How do I reserve a costume?

You can inquire about costume availability online, over the phone at 650-729-3042, or in person.

Costumes requiring alterations require a week’s notice prior to your event date.

What if I don’t know what I want?
Fancy Pants is all about fun! Sometimes, the best option is to make an appointment and one of us will help you go through thousands of costumes to find the perfect outfit for you. We love to mix and match and can create a crazy, fun, cool, mind-blowing and completely costumed look for you!
What about alterations?
Costumes requiring alterations require a week’s notice, and will be paid for by the customer. All alterations must be reversible and costumes should be restored to original condition before return.

How does pricing work?

PRICING AND FEES
Every costume rental from Fancy Pants Costume is subject to certain fees. Rental fees are based on a one-week rental. We do not rent partial costumes or for partial weeks. Most costumes range from $50 to $150 for the week. Our higher-end costumes, such as the Venetian costumes, couture gowns, feather, and delicate one-of-a-kind pieces are rented at a substantially higher price. In addition, there is a higher required deposit when renting these pieces.

REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
A refundable security deposit is required for all costume rentals. We refund the security deposit in full within 2 weeks of receiving the costume or costumes in the same condition in which they were sent out. Photographs are taken of each piece when it is packed for shipping. There must be no issues with rips or tears, missing pieces, stains, unrestored alterations, or damage of any kind.

We understand accidents happen; if one does, please let us know and the appropriate repair amount will be deducted from your deposit. The security deposit will be used if the costumes are returned in any of the conditions listed. If that does happen, the remainder of the security deposit can take 4 weeks to return to your charge card.

CLEANING AND SHIPPING
Your costume rental will include a cleaning fee, to be determined based on the costume.

Shipping costs are not included in the rental fee and will be paid by customer. A pre-paid return label will be included in the package.

In addition to Fancy Pants having an amazing selection of unique, custom costumes, one great reason to rent is sustainability! Rather than contributing to the waste chain with a wear-it-once item, rent and share the joy!
Payment
Fancy Pants accepts Venmo, credit cards via PayPal, or a PayPal transfer. All costume rentals are pre-paid prior to pick up or shipping.
